Hey everyone, it’s Sierra here! Today I have for you a tasty and foolproof recipe for bourbon candied pecans!
The idea for these pecans came to me as I was thinking of different toppings I could use on some of my desserts. The idea of candied pecans on pumpkin pie or brownies sounded amazing, and I wanted to make it a bit more fun by making it bourbon flavored. The combination turned out so good, and the best part is, the whole recipe takes only 10 minutes to make! Not only are these bourbon candied pecans great for topping desserts with, but we love them so much that we’ve been snacking on them!
Stovetop or Oven?
When I was researching how to make the best candied pecans, most of the recipes I came across baked them in the oven. However, a lot of them didn’t result in the glossy texture that I wanted, and since I only wanted to make a small batch, it didn’t seem worth the effort to preheat the oven.
After some experimentation, I found that toasting the pecans before coating them made them slightly crispier and brought out a nuttier flavor than using raw pecans. These bourbon candied pecans were as good as any candied pecans I’ve ever had, and they were shiny and glossy just as I wanted. The entire recipe only takes 10 minutes from start to finish, which is shorter than the time it would take for my oven to even preheat.
Let’s get started on this quick and tasty bourbon candied pecan recipe!
